10 Reasons why Marriage gets messy. #Christianmarriage

Featured Post

It wasn’t till three years into my first marriage that I went seeking to get help for the multitude of emotional hurt and pain I was bearing through. The first three years of marriage brought shame to me as a wife. I truly believed I was enduring what I was because I was not good enough.

With my own strength (the little that I did have) I would push myself through the marriage and to excel at what I thought my husband needed from me. It was mentally and emotionally draining. The few friends I would open up to about the situations I was living through, would only encourage me to leave the marriage and try to make me believe we were going through all we were because we didn’t love each other anymore.

Those conversations never helped or brought peace with the fact that I knew walking away was not the answer.

When I finally started seeking godly help and counsel for my marriage, I began to feel freedom from my shame for the first time. I finally started to feel burdens being lifted off of me and most importantly; I didn’t feel alone.

Being part of a community that encourages you to pursue biblical principals for you marriage can and will give you more strength than you can imagine. It will open your eyes to all the marital situations out there and know that you are not alone. Most likely, you will be amazed by how many women actually have the same story as you do.

Just as Liz mentions in her post, there are many reasons why marriage can get messy, but we do not need to do it alone. If you are looking for a community to gain encouragement in your marriage, I hope you hop over to see Liz’s post and join her in her new PRIVATE Facebook group about getting through the messiness of marriage.

Here is Liz’s post featuring on Salt & Light Link Up….

I was surprised when my reader survey last year uncovered so many of you wanted to talk about what happens when marriage gets messy. At first I simply filed it away, claiming it wasn’t really my “niche.”

The truth is I didn’t feel equipped to take on such a tough topic.

I still don’t.

But God kept nudging me, so I’ve teamed up with some ladies who have accrued a lot of wisdom from Him concerning marriage. I’m excited to bring you their stories to help you make your marriage into less of a mess and more of a masterpiece!
